Ski-in ski-out resort in Austria
Oberlech is a small settlement on the main ski slopes directly above the well-known village of Lech am Arlberg in the west of Austria.
The skiing around Oberlech is part of the massive Arlberg region, which crosses the border between the provinces of Tyrol and Vorarlberg and stretches from St Anton am Arlberg all the way through to the village of Warth on the other side of Lech.
Oberlech itself is located at a height of 1700 metres above sea level, giving it a virtual guarantee of snow, while the village of Lech just below it is at just under 1450 metres.

What makes Oberlech a real ski-in ski-out location?
Some of the main ski runs in the Lech area run right past the hamlet and skiers and snowboarders can head out of the accommodation in the morning and be onto the ski slopes. Oberlech can be reached by its own cable car from Lech down in the valley. Much of the hamlet is car-free and there is an underground car park for visitors opposite the cable car base station. Taxis can be taken to Oberlech outside the operating hours of the cable car.
The Petersboden chairlift rising from Oberlech links in to the main skiing on the same side of the valley, with routes available across to the villages of Warth or, in the other direction, Zug.
Alternatively, blue ski runs drop down to the centre of Lech and access more chairlifts, as well as the cable car up to the Rüfikopf on the other side of the valley. This is the start of the circuit through Zürs known as the Weisse Ring (the ‘white ring’) as well as the connections over towards Stuben and St Christoph am Arlberg.
