As an Alpine nation Switzerland can boast a number of ski resorts which will stay open past the Easter weekend in 2026.
In fact, a handful of glacier resorts carry on later than that. But here is a list of when some of the major ski areas in Switzerland are planning on closing at the end of winter 2026:
Valais & Vaud ski resort closing dates
Champéry – April 12
Crans Montana – April 06
Saas Fee – April 19 (although the skiing opens up once again later in the summer)
Verbier – April 26
Zermatt – the official end to the winter season is May 03. But then the spring and summer lift passes kick in as Zermatt offers skiing every day of the year.
Bernese Oberland ski resort closing dates
Adelboden – the main ski area is closing on April 07 but the higher non-linked area at Engstligenalp will remain open until May 05
Gstaad – March 31
Jungfrauregion (Mürren/Wengen/Grindelwald) – April 28
Central Switzerland ski resort closing dates
Andermatt – the 7-day-a-week operation will close on April 06 and the Gemsstock ski lifts will then remain open until April 19
Engelberg – May 03
Graubünden ski resort closing dates
Arosa – Lenzerheide – April 12
Davos – Klosters – April 12
Flims – Laax – April 12
St Moritz – The slopes above the town are scheduled to close on April 27 but the high Diavolezza area will remain open until May 03
