There are plenty of options for ski resorts close to the city of Vancouver, the largest metropolitan area in British Columbia.
Skiing on the west coast of Canada is generally associated with the best-known winter resort of Whistler Blackcomb but, although that is a good option for skiers and snowboarders in the Vancouver area, there are three other ski resorts which are far closer to the city.
Accommodation in Vancouver
Skiers and boarders heading for the nearby ski resorts, and even those visiting Sasquatch Mountain, may prefer to stay in the Vancouver region both for the activity in the city and the choice of accommodation.
The North Vancouver region probably makes the most sense for anyone heading out to the closest ski areas.
Whistler Blackcomb, on the other hand, has a good choice of accommodation near the ski slopes and options are given later in this article.
