Ski resorts near Bend OR

Bend is a relatively small metropolitan area in Central Oregon that has the best access to one of the top ski resorts in Oregon. The city is located on the eastern edge of the Cascade mountains and has developed into a popular destination for outdoor sports.

Bend is the closest major settlement to Mt Bachelor, Oregon’s largest ski area, but it also is within easy reach of two other popular ski hills in the central part of the state.

Mt Bachelor is one of the largest ski areas in the Pacific Northwest, with 11 ski lifts covering around 100 trails on a vertical drop of 3365 feet. It is the closest ski resort to Bend and only around 30 minutes’ drive from the nightlife and accommodation available in downtown Bend.

Hoodoo ski area is a smaller ski resort not far from Bend. It offers five chairlifts serving 34 ski runs at its location on Santiam Pass. The skiable terrain is around 800 acres with just over 1000 feet of vertical. The ski area offers night skiing at the weekends and a sizeable snow tubing park.

Willamette Pass Ski Area

Willamette Pass is a smaller ski area to the southwest of Bend . It is located at Odell Lake and offers 29 runs on two peaks suitable for all levels of skier and boarder. It has just over 550 acres of skiable terrain and is served by four chairlifts and a magic carpet. It has a vertical drop of just over 1500 feet.
